There are plenty of fish in the Gulf that we can target besides the red snapper to make your fishing experience with us fun and something you will always remember!

What will you be fishing for each month?

March is the beginning of our season.  The catch is mostly triggerfish and grouper. It’s not peak, but the fishing is still good.

April is a great month for bottom fishing.  Start looking for cobia and Spanish mackerel this month.

May brings the bait, king mackerel and cobia. Lots of vermillion snapper, triggerfish and grouper on bottom trips. It’s a very busy month.  Nice weather.

June brings great weather & great fishing.  We'll be doing bottom fishing and lots of trolling depending on the length of your trip.  This is our peak season so reserve as early as you can.

July is the busiest month of the year.  Excellent fishing for just about everything. The water is getting warmer which means the fish are farther out so it's time to go on longer trips.  

August and it's almost always a morning bit so let's get an early start! School's back in session and the crowds thin.  The weather is very HOT.  Good thing we have AC!

September is a great month to come. The weather begins to moderate and the water temperature begins to drop.  Look for black fin tuna on 12 hour trips. The bottom fish are moving now that the water is cooler so look for some surprises!

October is an awesome month for fishing.  The weather is cooler and so is the water so look for some big fish. Bottom fishing and trolling are great. The Destin Fishing Rodeo takes place the whole month of October every year and the Bounty Hunter always participates so fishing with us automatically makes you eligible to qualify for prizes.

November is the best of fall weather.  Not much fishing pressure from other boats and no crowds. We will be fishing for amberjack, triggerfish, grouper and trolling for kings can be really good this time of year. Enjoy the warm days and cool nights.

December and the weather is still nice. The triggerfish, amberjacks and groupers are biting.  We get busy around the holidays so make your reservations early!

January & February will find some warm days between the cold fronts. Bottom fishing for everything but red snapper is good, weather permitting.

If you book your trip in the winter please be sure to leave a "window" in your vacation for bad weather days so we can reschedule your trip during your stay in Destin.
